Hello! We're Sally and El. We were both working as vegetable growers for Sheffield Organic Growers when we began experimenting with cut flowers in 2021 on a modest patch of wasteland in front of our compost loo. We loved the results so much we decided to give cut flower growing a proper shot, alongside our vegetable growing and musician jobs, and the following year began renting a portion of the adjacent field we'd always referred to as 'over the hedge'. Now we grow a wide range of organically certified, seasonal flowers for local shops, bakeries, florists, weddings and flower fans in the Sheffield area.

We raise all our flowers from seed in a large polytunnel before planting on a very exposed, gently sloping field. We harvest everything at its freshest and arrange our bouquets in the cool of the barn. On the hottest days we keep everything fresh until delivery in a solar-powered chiller.
Being certified organic by the Soil Association means all our farming practices adhere to strict organic standards.
We grow everything without the use of pesticides and herbicides, and use a minimal tillage approach to cultivation. Prioritising soil health leads to strong healthy stems - and more time looking good in your vase!

We typically start selling fresh flowers from May, right up until October. Having a polytunnel enables us to overwinter certain plants and begin growing flowers earlier in the year.
We grow a wide selection of annual and perennial flowers for cutting and selling fresh, but we also take great delight in drying a large proportion of our flowers on site in the barn.
We begin drying as early as July, and we're kept busy right up until Christmas, making 'everlasting' bouquets and wreaths with all the beautiful dried stems we've stored.
